    Editing Permissions reminder

    Just a reminder.

Members have the choice in their profiles to choose one of three edit statements regarding photos they put up for CC on Ausphotography.

You can edit your permissions statement here: http://www.ausphotography.net.au/for...do=editprofile

The three choices you have are:

    * Edit ok, please provide details
    * Ask before editing my photos
    * Please don't edit my photos

The chosen statement by each member is displayed with their username on their posts in threads on Ausphotography. Please respect members statement and abide by their wishes. Editing a photo without asking, when they have chosen "Ask before editing my photos" is not on.

We had an issue this evening where members ignored the copyright owning photographer, and edited their photo without seeking permission first. Please make yourself familiar with where a members edit statement appears with their post, and abide by their wishes.

    Thanks

Flipside/the other side of the coin/by the same token/on the other hand...

People should check that what is displayed is actually what they intend. In some posts people ask about how to do something/fix a problem with a picture
and then block out some practical demonstration by an unthought-out permissions flag.

True.. however it is easy enough to ask in the thread 'can I edit your photo and show you what I mean?'. Communication, as always, is the key!
