    Laidley floods 2013

    Here we go again just 2 years after the last event ,this is enough to bring tears to my eyes as I know the heart ache to follow .
    These were taken early this morning at about the flood peak , looking up the main st.

    At this stage there are only 3 businesses in the town not affected by flood water and countless homes damaged.

    Thank you for sharing this set of photographs - I don't want to say nice work because I know the heartache and devastation involved. I like the processing in #1 & #3 - it provides a gloomy tone. Stay safe ... Lesley

    Australia is a place of great diversity. Devastating floods in one state, Devastating fires in another.... Well.... Up goes the insurance premiums again.
    I just hope there are no lives lost. And those effected can have the courage to rebuild their lives.

    I guess Laidley's rich alluvial soils may have been formed from flooding like this, but that does not assuage the heart ache and suffering. Thank you for these graphic images.
