    Messenger -> Skype 15th March 2013

    http://thenextweb.com/microsoft/2013...rade-to-skype/

    So, what’s happening between now and 15th March?
    Messenger will continue to work as you know it today. If you are signed in with Messenger on your desktop** you will see a banner notification to upgrade. When you click on the banner, an installer window will open with the request to upgrade. This will take you through our installer flow to install Skype and automatically uninstall Messenger.

    So, what’s happening after 15th March?
    Messenger users on desktops** will not be able to sign in and will only be able to upgrade to Skype. If you attempt to sign in, a notification will appear, and if you continue, you will be taken through our installer flow to install Skype and automatically uninstall Messenger at the same time.
    PS: I heard that M$ bought Skype for $8.5billion ... Idiots... I downloaded it for free

    The carp about it is that Skype functions are being "premium-ised".
    Yahoo, take this message...

    If you use third-party software for IM integration, be careful about merging your messenger and skype ID's at present.

    Software like Trillian will not work with the integrated accounts, for now. http://blog.trillian.im/?p=2684
    So if you use 3rd Party messenger/email integration services, check with your software provider before going ahead with a merge of your accounts

    I still have an old rotary dial phone(I think, I'm sure I had it somewhere!!?? .. it was green .. ie. eco friendly, in the days before the world had any C02 and it was easier to breathe.

    I may be able to sell it to M$ for about $10billion(I'll take AU's at this time ) .. surely it's antique/historical value commands some sort of premium.

    I may call them to see if they want it, before I put it up on ebay.

    .. hang on(or up?) .. I don't have Skype, so I can't call them
