    This is Australia - Photos from our past

    The national archive of the UK has spent the last 18 months cataloging a long forgotten display of photos from Australia. They have today released them on Flickr.

    Some of the photos date back as far as the 1870's.

    Thanks for this link Rick. For a history buff like myself it is wonderful. The 1870 photo's of Sydney buildings are incredible, and some of the old settlers huts in the Qld section are really extra special.
    As a photographer I am enjoying studying them as well.

    What a great idea, I have looked through the Qld ones so far and will get to the others soon as there are so many there and I have to put them to the largest size.
