    For the Baby Boomers

A friend posted this up today on FB. It's the best cover I've heard of this song and sung by a woman.

enjoy, if you're so inclined, cheers Deb

I think that was the best cover of 'Stairway' I've ever heard, and the video quality was great.

    Thanks for sharing.

A delightful rendition, possibly even better than Rolf Harris

Yep, one of the best covers of that song ever, and the sound quality is superb! Thanks for the link well worth the listen!!

Looks like even Robert Plant shed a tear

Jimmy Page at 69 looks so much better than Plant at 64!!

'twas good to listen to, though no one has really come near the original IMHO.
Some songs have been played to much.
Rolf did give one of the best interpretation I've heard. That's what great songs need, interpretation!

May I show my ignorance and ask who the people in the audience are (the ones with the rainbow ribbons around their necks) that the cameras keep returning to.

They are 3 of the band members of Led Zepllin:

John Paul Jones, the bassist is on the left as we look at them.
Robert Plant, the vocalist in the middle
Jimmy Page, of the right is the guitarist.
John Bonham, the original drummer, died in 1980 from excessive drinking. Jason Bonham is on the drums in this clip.

Thought it might have been an original band or the like. Going by the fact the cameras went back to them more often than anyone else. Thanks for the details, especially about Jason Bonham. That I wouldn't have guessed.

FWIW Ez, Plant and Page wrote the song.
And just in case, it was originally released on a Led Zeppelin album in 1971.

Ah, but it was released with no name, Led Zeppelin IV is what it became known as. Not that it really matters.
