You are going to love the MKIII and the 24-105 is just excellent too!

If I could turn back time I would have not purchased the 24-105 and chucked the money into the 24-70mm II, but it hadn't been launched yet.

For me, I'd be thinking about seeing if the 24-105 is wide enough for you prior to purchasing the 17-40mm. I'm sure you have a plan, but I can't see myself purchasing a lens that crosses over the focal length of the 24-105 as it is really very good and from research (IIRC) is better than the 17-40mm anyway.

You'll love it! as for whether you get a 17-40, depends on how often you shoot really wide. I would say a good 2/3 of my landscape shots are between 16-24mm , however , I would agree with wayne if you're not a wide angle type of shooter!

    in love with my mkiii

In fact I was considering asking my 5Dmkiii for approval to start seeing my wife again..

I would also love a wide. I think I have most other ranges covered, but there are times when I want to be that bit wider.

There will be no regrets with that beast. Enjoy the Mark III to the max and cannot wait to see your images.
I too love mine to bits. No matter what lens you add to it, it is just a mean beautiful machine.

I moved from the 7D to the 5Dmk3 about 7 months ago and was blown away. The focus system is amazing and as for high ISOs....
