    EF 100-400 f/4-5.6L IS II

Has anyone got anything on the lens mentioned?

There are several tit bits on the net, but I cant find anymore.

400MM F5.6 Prime with IS would do me as well.

    Have you read anything yet?
They call me "Blue" it's a red head thing.

I have one. It works well but I do not like the "pump" action very much and the ring to tighten the barrel is not working any more. There is some sort of black fabric in the tightening mechanism that has worn out (came out bit by bit).
Other than that it is a good lens with good IQ. I use it mainly for birds and shooting surfers on the beach.
    For example images look here.

    G Day Henk,

The lens I'm looking at is the update to yours. F4 to 5.6 IS MK11, the rumor mill is riff that it is internal zoom(As in the 70-200mm L Range), and not a push pull, with better Stop on IS.

Not sure whether to wait for the suspect to raise it's head, or get the 400mm F5.6 L - but the rumor is the 400 F5.6 Prime may be getting IS, that would be ideal for me. Cricket and Rugby.

    Cheers mate.

    Roosta,
According to the CR site theres a good chance we could see one or both (announced?) in 2013. I'm keenly interested in both to.. Would love to get the other "new 400" 200-400 f4L IS 1.4x.. but that's a "lotto win" option

I'm hearing you Wobbles - 'One Powerball" and it would be more than one lens, that's for sure.

The ol 400 mm F5.6 L Prime is begging for an upgrade, first release was 1993 from memory. Hope so, as this would suit my cricket and rugby needs, and probably drag me into trying some birding shots.

Have been looking at the Sigma 120 - 300 mm EX OS F2.8, nice, but not a Canon L. Cheap enough, that's for sure, and it gets a great write up from Bryan Carnathan.

    Come on Canon...

    Cheers mate,
