    canon G1x in low light

Anyone out there who can comment on how good the G1x does in low light? e.g. 30sec for stars? how about the manual focus? does it work well in low light?
    Thanks

I haven't tried taking shots of stars with my wife's G1X, but have done some low light stuff with it.
It's pretty good actually, although I've only gone as high as 1600 ISO, but the images are remarkably clean and noise free at 1600.
The Digic 5 processor is far superior to the older Digic 4, especially as far as noise goes.

The manual focus is defintely do-able, especially if you use the 10X magnification on the screen, although twirling the rear multi-function dial feels a bit weird to an SLR user.
All my photos are taken with recycled pixels.
