    Before you complain about how much photography gear you carry.......

    Think of the modern Infantry soldier and his own weight in gear he has to carry everyday and in high altitude too!

    so what you are saying is that you:

    -carried a much hated weapon that was only ever in service because of the ANZUS treaty with the US, and was later replaced with the beloved MAG58 to this day
    -carried a 6kg flak jacket - optional
    -carried from only 1000-2000 rounds of ammo max
    -no other support equipment
    -no personal comms equipment

    So you carried less than what we are carrying now, even for mission-critical equipment?
