21st December. End of the World. Lets have some fun

As we only have a couple of weeks left till it all goes..um BANG, how about we enjoy the experience.

On the 20th December, I will start a thread for all your 'doomsday' photos. You can edit them as much as you want, but let's just have some fun with this and see what we can all come up with for the "Ausphotography Doomsday Photo Essay".

No prizes, just a bit of fun. So I am giving you a couple of weeks to come up with your photo.

And remember to put your tray table up, put your seat in the upright position and stick your head between your knees.

Constructive Critique of my photographs is always appreciated

.....And on Saturday 22 December 2012 there will be a party in a telephone box for everyone that admits that they believed the Mayan 'prediction'....should be plenty of room.

HA HA HA, but seriously Geoff, why not go to Cann River, much closer and 25 years behind.

For anyone not familiar with Cann River, don't bother looking in Lonely Planet or any other travel guides, just get a copy of deliverance from an old DVD rental shop.

If you shortly see a text only version of AP without any formatting etc Geoff. It's cause I have sent your version on AP back 25 years in Internet time. No photos, just unformatted text for you! Just thought you might appreciate a bit of Tasmania.

That's ok Rick. At least there won't be any replies from Queensland members. They all recon that they are well ahead of us.

For those members wondering why my username is a bit dull beside this post. It's because I've been BANNED.

Queensland: one hour (and twenty years) behind the rest of the country.

PS Rick: The world had better not end on the 21st of December, as that's when my six-week holiday starts.

Funny you should mention the end of the world; the other night we were discussing how the planet was supposed to end in 2012, but that it hasn't happened and probably won't; but then I remembered we still have three weeks left.

Just as well you're not offering prizes. The two-week trip to Hawaii would have been completely useless if the planet no longer existed.

The salient point being that the bull-powder is not of Mayan - or apparently of mesoamerican - origin, rather the interpretation (Oops! Too good a word.)
    of later doomsayers. See here.

Pity, though, in a way. I was looking for a change, and now it'll be just a holiday.

Thought I had been banned, until I looked up the top. Then thought it was part of the database problem...... Took me a while to catch on..... (I'm a bit slow lately.. Worried the world is going to end)

The only thing all this doomsday nonsense is going to prove is that the Mayans were nothing but a bunch of mosquito plagued savages who invented a dud calendar. We will still be living, breathing and paying taxes on the 22nd of December.

If, on the other hand, I'm wrong and the mosquito plagued savages are actually right then it's not going to matter because there will be nobody here to say to me "See, I told you so!"
