    Dirty bird bath

I need some help regarding my little bird bath. I scrub it constantly, but it has a green mould on the bottom that I cannot remove. Question - can I use some bleach and if I do, will it affect the birds as that is my main concern.

    I welcome any advise.

    Thank you.
    Cheers Jan

I use bleach on the plastic Potplant saucer and rinse it out well, it does not seen to harm the birds Jan.
The terracotta one we painted a few coats of slate sealer on them so brushing out fixes them ok.
Different with the cream painted one that hubby did with the exterior house paint all the scrubbing does not work on that one.

Thank you Mary Anne. It is only a plastic one, so will do that. I knew you would help me out.

Bleach should be OK if you rince well and leave in the sun for a couple of hours, it breaks down relatively quickly. Its use in our water supplies and pools so cant be too bad.
