The 2013 members challenge : ideas poll

I recently asked members to contribute ideas for our 2013 members challenge. In this thread is a poll, members can make multiple choice selections and we will use the results of this poll to discuss what we do for 2013. We may not run with the result with the highest votes, but it will let us see the top choices and eliminate some of the lower ones, before we all come to a final choice as to what we do for 2013.

Remember that our member challenges run for a week at a time, and are not competitions. Rather they are a challenge between members based on a theme for the week.

So I have gathered together the previous suggestions and ask that you vote in the poll attached for those ideas you think would be good to consider.

Each member can vote for more than one of the choices

Looking at the results so far, it looks like OBJECTS is going to be the favoured choice.

As we get closer to the end of the year, we will need to start coming up with 52 objects. Remembering that they need to be things that all of us can access to photograph, no matter where we are located, geographically.

Those that picked the next two highest voting results could always choose to do their OBJECTS at a set focal length, or add in an alphabetical challenge for themselves, on top of the weekly OBJECT.

Happy for people to start using this thread to come up with some objects. I will start it off with BEACH BALL

If you live in the country many miles from a Shop or the beach and have no children or a pool where would you find a beach ball.

No beach balls here and I live in suburbia looks like I will have to take the P&S to the big shopping centre to get objects like that.

    A framed photo.

I shoot with Canon And Olympus Cameras

My computer room has many items in it, though not one balloon, not even a red one let alone 1 dozen of them....

And the most important thing in this room is the back scratcher.

I like Kym's list by and large.

We're going to be on the road for nearly 20 weeks again next year, all things going well, and some ideas could be a bit hard to organise on the west coast of Tassie or northern South Australia, etc; but Kym's list should be pretty good.

Car, paper, building material, body part.

Anyway, since 52 object/things seems to be what's happening, should the list of decided upon 52 object/things be withheld from members and a new one announced each week? This way the challenge is to think, and go out and take a photo of it in that week.
If I know all the things in advance, I reckon I could spend the first two weeks of next year getting all my photos, which in itself would be a challenge, but .........

This is for the members challenges forum for 2013, not the AP photography competitions. Only our comps use your levels.

I think we should announce a few weeks in advanced, but pick randomly from the suggestions in this thread.

Perhaps we could compare this to a game of golf. Its yourself you're "competing" against, trying to challenge or improve yourself, not the other members
