    Sold my first ever image

I sold my first ever image

I actually dont shoot to sell images yet but Getty asked for some images from my flickr so I uploaded them last year and thought nothing of it
then I received a email stating I had sold a image for $40 bucks (ok I got $8.37 commission) then a week later that same image was brought for $499 earning me a extra 100 big ones!

So got myself a nice new shiny camera bag and I can now call my self PRO (ok I am kidding on the whole Pro thing)

I know I am getting ripped on the commission side of things but what a boost of confidence and ego HAHAHAHA!

The ripper is I shot this on a P&S in 2006 SAY WHAT!!

Good job. Interesting how the process works.

The fees are high but as an unexpected bonus, that is awesome.
Spending it on the bag will be a good boost as well. Everytime you reach for that bag youll remember how you earned it.

Congratulations! It's a great dairy image, cows on natural pasture and one looking at the camera as a nice point of interest.

So if you sold the image, does that mean that you also sold the rights to the image, or just a copy of it?? Seems a lot of money for a picture, wonder what it will be used for.

Great news. I cannot say I am a fan of the image at all but you know what, someone somewhere out there has a use for it and you benefitted. Nice job.

    Thanks guys

I think I retain the rights to the pic as it is only licensed through Getty

My mates and I think it will appear in some milk advert considering the big shift from the Permate stuff.
