Better Photography Photography of the Year Awards 2012

I entered a couple of "different" images this year, and was rewarded with a category win for "Incredible Sport"
Also made 38th in Creative Flair category, so a successful year!

Just thought I'd have a little brag is all

    Good one Shirl.
If I remember right, the photo was posted on AP way back somewhere. I was impressed way back then.

I entered a couple in the landscape and travel categories but yours was a standout. I'd happily place it behind the overall winner. I thought the other category winners were a bit drab in comparison. brilliant idea

Thanks everyone. Just goes to show that good opportunities often come from unlikely situations. I had been dragged along to take photos of my partner's cycle team, certainly wasnt ecpecting to get any shots "for myself". Got all excited when I saw the shadows and realised the possibilities!!

That is a true quality of a photographer, nothing planned but "saw" the image before you took it.
