Perhaps in line with the post that Ross made, you could always have a text file with your name and phone number on any card that you have in the camera.
Or even include it in the exif fields on cameras that have the facility.
My son got a 2nd had compact camera complete with a memory card full of images.
He had a look then deleted them.

of course you're always reliant on peoples good will but if you make it a bit easier maybe your chances improve.
