    Photoshop Purchase

    Hi All
I happened to get a copy of *removed- read site rules 3-7* . Thought I'd watch it and give it a go....but I don't have Photoshop. Is it really $1099 for the newest Photoshop CS6 version? *removed - read site rules 3-7* Do I really need this or can I get a "cut" version for SLR use?
    Thanks

If you are a bona fide student it will cost much less (threads abound about this).
Otherwise, get the cut down Elements (threads also abound).

Cheapest of all, get the free The Gimp for a while.

I don't use Gimp, but lots on AP do (apparently).

It does not (AFAIK) handle raw files, but your camera s/w will let you convert to jpeg, tiff, etc.

Get Photoshop Elements, or Photoshop Lightroom.

Thank you. I'll have a look at GIMP I'm thinking.
