    Lightroom users rejoice!

    Ok, so someone else may already have discovered this site, but I just did and thought it was worth sharing. It's from Matt Kosklowsi who is one of the Kelby Training gurus and their Lightroom specialist. The site includes videos of Lightroom features but also has some FREE presets to download and install to your own LR4 (or LR3 - note these presets are not the same so don't get confused). Enjoy!

    Thanks Waz. I have recently been using Lightroom 4 and it is brilliant!!! Another great site for tutorials on Lightroom 4 (and 3) is www.slrlounge.com This site has commercial training available but also lots of free and useful advice. I highly recommend it.

    Thanks Jane, wardie and Greg.

    @wardie - don't even hesitate! I've used both and it's chalk and cheese. LR4.1 is so much better it's just not funny!

    @Greg - thanks for the link, mate. I'll give it a look-see.

    Update: Yep. Bookmarked for later exploration.

    Thanks Waz!! (and Greg!)

    I use presetsheaven.com as well. Some pretty cool stuff on there....except, I have forgotten how to download the presets into my LR!! I did a few last year, then had to change computers and lost my LR3, so bought LR4....now how to get some presets?? Can you help?

    Are you using a Mac or a PC, Monika? I'm pretty sure the process is similar but slightly different. Then there's the semi-automatic way (through Lightroom Preferences, Presets) or the manual way using your file manager.

    David Marx at http://vimeo.com/davidmarx/videos/all/sort:date also has a lot of LR3 and LR4 how-to videos which I have found quite useful. He covers one small aspect of the program in each video.

    Hi Monika, if you are using a Mac you can find the folder where the Lightroom presets are kept by selecting the following in Lightroom. Lightroom: Preferences. Then select the presets tab and then click the "show Lightroom presets folder". This will then take you to the folder in finder. In this folder the general presets that appear on the Left hand of the Lightroom screen are stored in the "Develop Presets" folder and any presets you have for brushes are stored in the "Local adjustments presets" folder. To load presents in you simply download them and open them into a temporary folder and then transfer them to the appropriate presets folder as above. You then need to restart Lightroom before they will appear in the menus.

    As I only use a Mac I can't advise re how to do this on a PC but I imagine it is similar.

    Ah I LOVE Lightroom! I use it exclusively for my photos. Photoshop is now a work tool for me 9-5 and Lightroom is for my photos and fun

    Lightroom 4 is vastly better than 3! I started on an early version of 3 something, then to 3.5, then to 4

    Also I have this, well, one of the packages. I do recommend them!:

    Decided to "shave" my signature ;]
    Now mostly shoots with: Canon 5D MK3 & Canon 24-70 f/2.8/50mm f/1.8 (also have a 550D with a variety of lenses/goodies and a Sony Nex-5N)
    PP with: Lightroom only, Photoshop is merely a 9-5 work tool for me.
