    Got my new kit!

Picked it up yesterday from Michaels in Melbourne. Also got an st-e3-rt flash transmitter and a 600ex-rt speedlight. Cant wait to get out and use it, I'm at home baby sitting today.

Can you use the ST-E3 for it's focus illuminator without actually using a flash?
I'd be interested in getting one for my 5D3, but it would often be used just to help me focus in low light without using a flash with it.
All my photos are taken with recycled pixels.

Its retailing around the 7.5k range. Pretty steep I know but I consider it money well spent

Sweet. I thought about the 1Dx but went for the 1DIV due to the 1.3 crop factor. Would still love one though

And a very nice purchase it is as well as cheap. When I was fishing on days ending in "Y" I would spend nearly that much on fuel and maintenance so I consider this hobby cheap really. cheers Brian

I've spent more on a model helicopter + a couple of hundred hours work to put it all together.
Then, there is always the danger that you'll crash it and end up with expensive confetti!

Once you've got your gear, photography is relatively cheap, but the trouble is, you always want more gear!
