Be careful, the folks in Lightning Ridge can be a suspicious lot and have been known to shoot back.
Introduce yourself around and you will find they mostly only have a first name.

Go out to the look out and watch the sunset and follow the little tourist trails marked with car doors as they are quite interesting. It's one of my favourite towns up that way.
