Not sure what the Tammy is but just room for thought.
Well that is also my thoughts on lenses. As the 5D111 seems to have dropped under $3500 now, it's not far off for me.

Still, William W thanks for all your ideas and insights.

Yes the 5D3 is getting closer and closer to $3000 ! It's looking good isn't it?
I'm liking my 24-70 a lot on the crop body, it's equivalent to 38-112 field of view on FF, so I'll probably be interested by a 24-105L when I get that 5D3. I'm missing the speed of my 50mm 1.4 though (80mm equiv on 7D), so I'll probably soon get a 50 1.4 replacement, probably the Sigma version. When I go FF, if the 100mm f/2 is too long as a portrait lens, I'd probably be interested in a 85mm. The Canon 1.2 seems a bit over the top, so Canon 1.8 or Sigma 85 1.4 a looking good. Other lenses in my radar are kind of obvious: 135 f/2L, 16-35 f/2.8L, 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM II.

I'm still thinking about an EF-S 15-85 as a daytime walkaround for the 7D though. It's not fast at all, but it's rather light compared to the other lenses, has a nice build quality, a fantastic range and good image quality. I'll see how it goes once I have bought another 50mm 1.4 ...
