Yes and no... Camera clubs can be real beneficial. There are people with the same mind set, and you'll get to see a lot of local images, photographed in a hundred different ways.
They also have a lot of weekend trips away, which can be a lot of fun. And the odd guest speaker at their meetings.

The down side.. (For me at least) is that they are a club, no different to any other. Where the formal part of meetings gets rather boring, and by the time you get to the good parts. Your already half asleep.

Hi we have been in Sale for the past 2 months but are leaving and heading for tassie next sunday. We would've certainly been interested in a meet up. As for camera clubs as we are on the move a far bit of the time we have thought about joining a local camera club when we stop in an area for a couple of months however the only camera club we emailed to join never responded so we left it at that.
