MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT : Upcoming Photo of the Week Competitions

We have got landscapes, birds, sport and insects all coming your way.

Starting with Photo of the Week #312 which begins on the 17th June 2012,
we will be running a series of Photo of the Week competitions based on the Members Photos Critique Forum titles.

So we will have People, Places, Panoramics, Macro, Nature, Sport, Transport and more.
Each week will be themed based on the titles of the critique forums.

What we are not going to do, is tell you too far in advance what each upcoming competition's genre will be.

However to help out our beginner members, and those that limit themselves to one or two genre, the week before the competition opens we will announce the genre for the next week and start a thread that will be for discussing the genre and the best way to get a photo for that genre. Basically a thread of 'how to' hints and more. We encourage members to ask questions in this thread, for others to answer.

But no-one is to hint at what their actual entry might be in these threads, as these competitions, as always, will be anonymous entry.
So if someone reveals details of what they are going to enter/have entered, it could be disqualified.

Each and every one of these competitions will use your photography experience level,
so you can compete against others with similar experience.

So prepare to get out of your photographic comfort zone,
try a few new genre for these upcoming competitions.

We will also be encouraging members to shoot photos specifically for these competitions
rather than grabbing something from your archives.

    COMING SOON,
THE AUSPHOTOGRAPHY PHOTO OF THE WEEK
    GENRE COMPETITIONS

Wildlife (not caged or domestic) will be a separate competition.
