Ausphotography National 'Meets' Day

A couple of years ago, we had a day, where lots of Ausphotography member meets were organised around the Country, all on the same day. We even had a challenge of taking a group shot of each meet at midday, with a tree in the photo.

Some of the meets even did phone calls to each other to say hello and find out what fellow AP members were doing at their meets.

Is there any interest in doing something similar again soon. Basically we choose a day, and then arrange local meets around the country, all on the same day. We could even challenge each group to get a certain type of photo, or other challenge ideas are also welcome.

Would love to hear what members think of this idea, and possibly doing it again in the not to distant future.

Don't think I'd have a problem getting the Hunter APers interested either, Rick. We've been in need of a good excuse for another meet, and always appreciate a challenge or three as well! Can't let those Banana-benders have all the fun, eh?

There are a few members between the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and east Gippsland as far as I&M "Andrews" town of Mallacoota

I reckon a Saturday or Sunday would suit most members. Any preferences on the date? We could do it the Long Weekend for the Queens Birthday (Mon June 11th - except for WA)?

There are a few members between the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and east Gippsland/ Mellacoota

Just a few points.
#1 Melbourne is not and should not be part of Victoria.
#2 The Eastern suburbs of Melbourne start at around about Traralgon these days so technically that part shouldn't be part of Victoria either.
#3 Anywhere East of about Bairnsdale is now the real Victoria.

C'mon Victorians lets get it going!!!

Well last one I was up at 4am to make Currumbin at 5am....,so this will be a sleep in lol

What about a night shoot too? Surfers skyline at Evandale Park I hear is ok...Or from anywhere

Andrew, I agree too much is made of the city, Victoria starts about 100kms out! I'd prefer a regional meet or two

Yeah I agree Mic Its a long way for Andrew and Geoff to travel to the city for a days shoot, so why not some Melbourne members come down this way

The long weekend is good, Rick. If the day is a Sunday that gives everyone (except WA) a full day to process and recover! :the: What's more, we might get some great fireworks shots that weekend too!

Lol that would be right, choose the long weekend and I will be between Melbourne and sydney! Leaving for Hawaii on the 12th from syd!! May have to join the regional meets
