Nikon D7000 right arrow key not working

    Hi
Has anyone come across the problem of not being able to move in one direction using the arrows? My right arrow has stopped working which is making it impossible to navigate through menus and go forward when reviewing photos. Anything I can try before taking it to the service centre? I have tried using a soft lens cleaning brush round the edge and slightly under the 'OK'/right arrow area but still not working. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Ness, on the D7000, is the little lever under the thumb pad arrows a locking lever?
If it is, is that clicked into the lock position inadvertently?
If not and you can use the up, down and left functions normally I would say that an enquiry with the Nikon service centre is in order.

Hi Andrew, thanks for checking, no it's not locked and all other arrow directions work fine so guess I'm phoning Nikon service centre. Will keep you posted.

Haven't got round to taking it in yet but of course I was being a bit thick about the menus! I can still use the OK button to select every option that I require so just takes s bit longer than normal. It's when reviewing photos back & forth it's a bit frustrating so I have to zoom out to viewing lots of pics & then go down through the pics before selecting the one I want! Will keep you posted.

As a short term fix you can go to your custom settings menu / controls (F) / customise command dials (F6) / set it to ON and that way you can scroll through the images using the rear dial.
It is set to off by default but that is one of the first things I change as it is more intuitive ( for me ) to scroll a wheel rather than push pads to review shots.
