Taller Persons tripods

I've summarised my tripod research. It's limited to carbon fibre only. As i am 188cm tall thwes models reflect the larger size options.

A handy table, CJ. I bought a Manfrotto 057 C4G a while back. Top marks to it for rock-solid stability, and it's pretty nice to use - in particular, it retains the Manfrotto-style fast leg clamps instead of the slower, more fiddly Gitzo-style twist-grips. The geared lift works brilliantly, and the whole unit remains stable and still even when would right up. Drawbacks are weight (it's actually heavier than my old alloy tripod, though much more solid), a non-spring-loaded leg angle release system (but maybe it's actually better and I just haven't got used to it yet), and - surprisingly enough - height. It's too damn tall! I'm just under six feet tall, so not a short man, but I wind up carrying around a significant amount of extra weight for tubing I'll never need. By the time you put a Wimberley on top if it, the height is just too much unless you are really tall. I'd think it would be perfect for a ruckman or a basketballer in the seven foot height class.

Having looked around at what else is around, I'd still buy it again even at my height. What's a little extra weight compared to the excellent overall usability and quality?

I recently got a Manfrotto 055 carbon tripod and at full extension, my 5`- 9-10" frame is just tall enough to see in my viewfinder. Highly recommend it.

I got the Gitzo GT3541XLS a while back now. really was meant to be my last large tripod. and i believe it will be.
it really is the only option if you want tall and light tripod. very easy to carry it around all day.

That was the conclusion i drew too. i didn't want to include the extension height, unfortunately none of these are low cost

Thanks for the table..............being 5'3" on a good day, I must say that this is something that has never crossed my mind.

I recently picked up the Benro C3580T so its probably worth adding this is its quite tall as well. Its a nice size and very stable:
