The 2012 London Olympic Games

In a very few short months we will be experiencing the 2012 London Olympic Games.

They run from July 27th to August 12th. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Summer_Olympics

A little known fact is that August 4th is at the very centre of the London Olympics with 8 days on either side. Perfect symmetry if you like.

So August 4th is the 9th day counting from both the starting day (27th July) and the finishing day (August 12th).
So it is the 9th day twice. 2 x 9 = 18 and 18 = 6+6+6.

As this year is a Leap Year August 4th is day number 217 in the year. Normally it is day number 216 and 216 = 6x6x6.

August 4th is the birthday of Barack Hussein Obama, the President of the USA.

It is also the birthday of quite a few other people, including a Pope, some mathematicians, composers, actors, sports people and even the odd garbage collector.
