Here's the new Canon 5D MkIII

Looks like the new 5D MkIII also has a headphone socket and a push button on the mode dial (like the 60D), so it won't turn accidentaly.

The official announcement can't be too far away.
Canon Rumours say it will be announded on the 2nd March!

if thats the real model, the lock button on the top dial would be much needed for me, too many times when my 5D2 accidentally got bumped to another setting and made me miss crucial shots as I bought it to my eyes. The depth of the camera looks slightly thicker/chunky too, around the viewing prism? but that could be me

I agree with the lock button but can foresee it being a bit of a pain sometimes as i sometimes flick it to change to another custom mode on the fly during events.
I suspect the 100% VF has a little to do with that.

the 100% will be excellent and I missed having that full coverage for a while now. The Sony A900 had an excellent VF back in 2008 when it was sitting next to the newly released 5D2 on the shelves.

My current 60D has the push button on the top of the mode dial, and I think it is a great idea as I have accidentaly moved this with cameras I've had in the past.
You get very used to pushing the button when changing modes and it becomes second nature to do so.
Just push the button with your index finger and use your thumb and middle finger to rotate the dial at the same time.

They say it will be released on Friday, European time, so we'll know all the facts here on Saturday!

It's sexy friend is the new 1Dx.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....................................

Yeah i figured it will just be a little getting used to. It's tomorrow our time... well so my friend tells me... he's attending the announcement.

I read on the rumors site it was 22 Megapixels do we know if that right ? It seems a bit on the small side compared to the new nikon ?

I'm not so fussed about 22 MP - but it'd be great to see the better AF at play, even better iso performance and WEATHER SEALING grrrr

Interesting specs I like the improvement to the AF hope there is an improvement to the high ISO noise performance and the wireless flash like the 7d. There are the main plus points for me.
