I don't doubt it. And there would be a great number who even if they found it, would think it was meant to be used by the shop to put the flash on display, or for the owner to stand the flash in the cupboard while not in use

You only have to walk through the local shopping center in your area, and the amount of young Chinese people flogging cheap import stuff is growing day by day. They will clamp down on some of this sooner or later, (Toys for kids worry me as there not up to a OZ Standard) but do you remember buying the Von Dyk or Lonsdale shirts at the local markets, looks like the real deal, but a 1/8 of the price, so I guess there's a market for it, and why not save a dollor.

But you didn't buy a large dollar item GREY and do a Aussie store out of a deal.

As Roosta says, there is a market for these third-party items because of the price.
Quality can be variable but usually OK.
I have "knock off" batteries, grip and various plastic moulded items in my bag.
The price and availability of the genuine part has created this market.

Would you believe it only arrived yesterday?
Flaming heck it was a long time coming. Which is one of the drawbacks to cheap online overseas deals. But then I couldn't buy the envelope over here for the price they charged for the whole thing with envelope and postage.

Yeah, some things are worth the wait.

I think mine took about three weeks to finally arrive too.

At those kinds of prices it's worth the wait.
