I took some shots last night of the Moon, and while I got some nearly focused, most are way out. How do I get the focusing perfectly crisp. Is it possible to use the Laptop to focus in better. From what I've read it isnt, but they were written a while ago.

Use Live View if you have it.

Make sure you turn off AF. Focus to infinity or close enough.

Softness may also be due to leaving IS turned on or having too light a tripod amongst other things. Use a remote or self timer to minimise vibration.

Cameras with live view will usually support viewing via a laptop.

Sturdy tripod, IS off, Live View.

What lens are you using? Anything over 200mm should be ok, but kit lenses will always be a little soft.

(P.s Post the pictures in the member's section and we'll be able to see what the issue is :th3:)

. . . and use "Mirror Up".

Worked it out with Live View through the Laptop. Cheers for that, new it was simple. Just got a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX DG OS and got a couple of nice shots.
