I have realised that I need a remote for my K5 and would like some advice. I can buy direct from Pentax and pay a ridiculous amount of postage, JB Hi-fi sells for about $49.00 or there are generic ones on Ebay for roughly $15.00. Has anyone purchased a generic one? and did it live up to your expectations? or should I buy the proper Pentax one? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

I've bought both a wired and a wireless generic on fleabay and never had a hiccup with either on my K20D.

Ive got $5.00 ebay IR remotes and they have been fine, I also have a $15.00 ebay wired remote with interval/ long exp etc and it has been great as well.

Thank you both for your comments...I will give the ebay one a try. I just cant justify spending $50.00 plus postage on something that I can get off ebay for $15.00. Your comments are very much appreciated :D

I have ordered a multi - camera remote, 15m radius for the Pentax at $12.98, free shipping and 1 year warranty. Thanks for the input everyone. :)

I probably spent more than I needed to but the one I got is radio so much bigger range and can also double as a remote flash trigger
