No bites? lol secrety mob arn't ya......hmmm well mine is turning out to be my totally geriatric 300mm 4.5 ............but its still a learning curve. I love its colours and saturation as well as its focal length......I gotta practice zooming with my feet! I also love that it looks weird and rough with chipped paint and the wrong colour.........like it would not be worth a penny and take crap pictures.......but its the beauty within that counts :)
cheers

Mine is my Nikon 17-35 f2.8. No surprises there. Landscapers love their widey's. As for luck, well I think for photography, luck plays a very minor role. For me it is about planning, location, and skill. Practice makes perfect it is said, but I have practised a damn lot and perfect has eluded me, so I keep on practising in the hope that one day...

And when (if) that day comes, chances are it will be shot with a widey!

I like all of my pro Nikkor glass, however favourite is - My 400/2.8VR;

*The fastest AF of any Nikkor lens
*Sharp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Wonderful contrast and colour
*Creamy smooth bokeh machine
*Excellent flexibility being constant f/2.8 for low light and with the 3 Nikon TC's to give up to 800/5.6

Probably the canon 24-70. Sharp, fast and I just cant get over the bokeh...delicious. The 50 1.8 is close, love it for portraits and low light. Both are a bit on the narrow side so I'm really waiting for a full crop:D

quite a lot of the Pentax Limited primes, ala 77, 43 and esp the 31, and also love the pancake lenses of 40mm too, more so than the 70 I also once had.

At the moment I'm loving my Canon 60mm lens, and my parents 70-200 F2.8 L. Best thing that's happened for me in the past 12 months is my Dad getting into photography and being under the impression that he NEEDS the expensive and best gear...

Works fantastically to my favour :P

I love each of my lenses for different reasons.

My 35/f2.8 M tends to be my walkaround lens. As much as I prefer the 50/f1.7 M - especially for live gigs - the extra width is very useful. Both are great for being so compact and good in low-light so either one will be on my camera most of the time.

My most recent acquisition, a 16-45/f4 has more than paid for itself in portrait photography alone. Was using it yesterday for a martial arts photoshoot and a few weeks back I used it at a ball for portraits. Sometimes you don't have a lot of room to take portrait photos. A lot of photographers shy away from using wide angle lenses on people but used right you can get some smashing photos.

My 55-300 kit lens I got it mainly so I could photograph ducks. As a bonus it does photograph other birds as well as planes and other subjects.

I love all my glass. :D There is no one glass that i use less than the other. Each glass has it's own time of day for usage. :)

My 100mm f2.8 macro lens is my clear favourite. On full frame, it's perfect for my style of photography.

I love my 70-200 2.8, and my nifty fifty.. LOVE them for portraits.. for lanscapes, my 10-20 :) I'm actually pretty happy with the lens selection I have right now, only thing I need is a replacement for my 18-55 :-s

Loving my Canon 24-105...purchased approx 6 months ago to use on my 50D..just upgraded to the 5DmkII before heading to Cambodia for 3 weeks, and apart from a few shots with the nifty fifty, it stayed on my camera the whole time..looking forward to purchasing the 17-40 though cos I do love wide angle!

It's like asking a mother to name her favourite child. Impossible question!

But perhaps my 100-400 which, on the 1D III, acts like an 80-300 on a standard body and is the best thing for reaching out into the landscape and plucking exactly the part you want from it.

Or the wonderful Tokina 10-17 fish. I have so much fun with that lens.

Macro work with the Canon 100/2.8 L IS is a joy.

And of course, for birding, the 500/4 is simply the best there is.

But maybe the lens I like the most is one I use rather seldom, and I really only love it on the 1D III it wasn't designed for - the Tokina 35mm macro which acts like a 28mm/2.8 on the 1D III and seems to draw me in to the landscape in ways that no other combination does. If this combo is so much fun, despite the dreadful low-tech focus motor on the 35/2.8 which the excellence of the 1D III can only partially overcome, how good would a 35/1.4L be on the same body?

The question said pick one ..... Damn it, I'll go for the 100-400.

My Nikkor DX 35mm/1.8 is my fav of what i have at the moment. It's my go to walk around and low light lens (except sometimes the 50/1.4 for low light). It's sharp wide open and has a nice moderate bokeh. Only issue i have with it is its a little prone to CA.

Hoping that with the warm weather ill have a bit more time to get out and make the Tokina 11-16 my new favourite :)

Lucky for me, I have a good selection of lenses to choose from, and my everyday lens would be my 24-105 F4.
However, I really love my Sigma 150mm macro too as it's so sharp and has wonderful colours, but it isn't as useable for everyday shots as the 24-105.

Got myself a Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 recently, and I have to say that I am falling in love with wide angle shooting, even using it on flowers where it actually does a really good job.
If I go to a party or out for dinner and need to take a camera, I generally use my cheap Canon 28mm F2.8 and it works very nicely on my 60D for indoor shots of people etc.

So hard to find just one lens I love more than the others, but I find I'm in love with whatever lens I'm using at the time, including my 100-400, 60mm macro and others I've forgotten about.......................

I love my 24-105mm f/4. I find that it's a great walk around lens. I'd love to get the 10-22mm or tokina 11-16 for wide angle shots.
