Might be heading out to Girraween National Park in October, just wondering if anyone has any nice spots (+/- 20km) they can recommend for a sunrise, sunset opportunity. Found a few peoples photos in the Land and Sea Scapes forum of large rocks, guessing that might be Bald Rock national Park somewhere?

Cheers,
Jason

Hi Jason.
I am not sure if I am going against the rules if I put up a link to Panoramio:

There are a few shots people took there and they are on a map so you might find the locations too.

You have Girraween and you have bald rock.
Girraween is on the way to Tenterfield. Bald rock has the turn off as you are driving into Tenterfield. You have to do the walk at Girraween. The rock formations are amazing and it doesn't take as long as they say. Go right up to castle rock. Its fantastic up there but don't fall off the rock. be careful.
Bald rock is a great walk too. Great views at both.
Tenterfield has a lot to look at to. I'd advise to go to the information center to get maps on whats around. It's good to look in that as well. Thats in the main street.
All I can say is you will have a great time. Plenty to look at. Have fun.
I posted some links of what I took up there...if you haven't already seen them. I have soooo many more.

I agree wholeheartedly. Great landscape, lots of wildlife, and even hot showers. September onwards is great for wildflowers
