Having lost my father, a veteran (Korea), not quite a year ago, I can tell you that the RSL (and/or which ever veterans' association he may have belonged to), should your family choose to involve them, do an amazing (yet not overdone) contribution to the service.

He belonged to an amazing generation (who grew up during the depression - WWII), from whom the rest of us would do well to emulate. They often didn't fully understand the gadgets of the modern world but, they never forgot the importance of that which was far more important - service and responsibility.

You can be assured that in his service (at the very least), his life made a valuable contribution to our world.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Bill.

it's good to see the AP community being there for you.

From his photo, I can certainly see the resemblance you have.

Keep your chin up, and shoot a seascape to dedicate to his memory.

Another passing of an Aussie legend I salute your father for his valuable contribution in protecting this magnificent country and my thoughts are with you.
Ps; Mate your Dad put on one hell of a light show that morning (I was shooting at S.S.Dicky) and it was the most amazing sunrise I've ever seen. Clearly somewhere he was being welcomed in such a glorious and fitting way ;)
