Another announcement for May Madness

There were some truly great photography related discussions this month and it took the mods and I some time to cull them down. When we got to a choice of 2, we had to do a quick poll to decide which thread to give the prize to.

So I can now announce that the winner of the Best non-critique photography thread for May Madness was PH005 (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/member.php?5915-PH005) for starting this thread (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showthread.php?84318-A-Question-For-The-quot-Birders-quot-On-Lens-Choice.&p=847270), which proved to be a lively discussion, and contained some wonderful replies and valuable information.

PH005 (Paul) wins a $100.00 voucher to Ausphotography Site Advertiser:

This is a very pleasant surprise. I would like to thank all the wonderful folk who contributed to my thread , and helped me make up my mind. And in turn made it an enjoyable read along the way.

Thanks All. Paul.

It was a fun thread. Poor old Paul got caught up in a "run away" thread that Mongo is certain he never intended to go quite so far and so off course. However, it was fun and even informative - if not about the camera gear, then, certainly about some of the members' personalities. :D

congrats Paul
regards from
Mongo.

Great stuff, Paul! You certainly stirred up some controversy with your "sharp" question. I don't think there were any "soft" answers in that thread, either! Well done! :th3:

Congratultions! I didn't even look at that thread, not being a birder I didn't feel I'd have much to contribute, as it's fairly specialised area.

I really loved how everyone was trying to "outdo" the others with all their "soft" bird shots! :D I think I might have to add one of these lenses to my wish list!

Congrats Paul on starting a great discussion! :th3:

If anyone is interested, I have ordered my prize. I went for a Black Rapid RS7 strap and some rechargeable batteries, ( always handy ). A Huge thank you to Jeff at Protog, whom I spoke to on the phone. Jeff even wavered the extra cost for freight. How nice is that ? Thanks again to everyone involved. Paul.
