Anyone interested in Long Reef on Sunday 24th of April for a 5:30 am start.

First light is 5:57 and sunrise 6:23 am.

Low tide is 7:44 am but it is 0.7m or less from around 5:30 to 9:50am so plenty of play time. The morning forecast is "partly cloudy" so it could be good.

Some info here (http://knol.google.com/k/a-photographer-s-guide-to-long-reef#) for those that don't know it!

I'll give it some thought but we have 20 people coming for lunch so the boss may have other ideas.
So, very tentative at the moment.

I would love to go but I have a 10 year old that would need more bribery than I am able to give, to get her up that early. I will see if I can get my sister to babysit. Peter do you have a spare tripod? My tripod has proven to be completely worthless (I am in the process of getting another).

You would be back before your 10 year old wakes up.

Yes, I do have a spare tripod (3 of them in various states of corrosion) so if you are coming, I can bring an extra.

Just in case Peter doesn't reply, I am meeting him in the car park at 5:30 :)

It looks like I will be able to come along to the meet but I have to be home by about 9:30am. I should be able to do that easily.
Which car park will you meet in, the one near the boat ramp or the one at the top of the hill?
I am thinking about parking at the top of the hill and walking down to the south east corner of the reef because the Photographer's Ephermeris indicates that is where I might get the best leading lines for the sunrise.
See you there tomorrow.

This is from Peter's link in the first post
"From Pittwater Rd, turn East into Anzac Avenue and then drive in through the Golf Club and all the way to the parking lot up on the headland"
That's where I was headed :)

Will be good to see you there Darey. Hopefully you can make it too Raccoon. Should be enough time for a nice sunrise and a early morning cuppa before your time expires.

Meeting point as Bec described.

Totally missed this thread - luckily I had visitor's coming over today so couldn't make it anyway. :D

Look forward to seeing the shots... I was up the coast elsewhere over the weekend...

There are plenty posted and as usual we all had our own unique take on the morning. It was quite a good shoot.

I am running out of eastern/southern beach-side suburbs so will be venturing to the wrong side of the harbour to mix it with the silvertails more often and hope to catch up with you then.

Cheers

Peter
