I have just noticed that the camera serial number is recorded in Kuso exif viewer V3.0.
I don't remember seeing that information before but I guess it indicates that each camera has the serial number entered into the firmware at time of manufacture. :confused013

Interesting. I wonder how tightly locked that is. There have been known to be hacked versions on firmware available to allow extra features etc. It could be concerning to think that the serial number could be edited by those unscroupulous.

From what I can recall, my camera body serial numbers have been available for viewing via Bridge in the Exif data - I cant recall not seeing that information ?

I'm pretty sure LR detects my cameras serial number in the Exif, and it can apply different default settings based on each serial number AFAIK.

Certainly available in Lightroom 3, Bridge CS4 an d5) - but doesn't seem editable (I am not a hacker though!)

Maybe I should have phrased it differently.

Yes, when viewing / editing your photos on your computer, you can see the serial number recorded in your favoured program but what I was pointing to is that if I upload an image to the web ( such as AP etc ) with the exif data intact anyone with Kuso exif viewer can the grab that image and then see the serial number of my camera.
I simply hadn't noticed it before and I was wondering if it was such a good idea to have that information available to all and sundry.
