Hi guys,
I downloaded a lightroom trial yesterday and had a bit of a play around. I love it!! I have no idea what I'm doing but can see me enjoying it.

Can someone point me in the right direction on some tutorials, or a how to guide or a book or something?

*adding LR to my birthday wish list along with many other goodies :-D
Better go suck up to hubby lol

Go and get "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 for digital Photographers", by Scott Kelby.

You will not learn how to use LR in 30 days, but with that book you will start to understand how to use it well

I bought lightroom in 2009 with great intentions (that was even before I got my DSLR), but never got around to using it. I have set my new years resolution to learn this and bought Scott Kelby's book. I have a slow learning curve but the book looks good and aimed at my level.

I've purchased said book online last night, just received notification of dispatch today and looking forward to learning how to post-process shots.

Hi Danielle..I did the same thing as you..downloaded the trial and then didn't know what to do with it:) If you google lightroom3 turorials, you will find some by Marianne Kost..she has several to get you started. This will help you have a pretty good play. I also bought Scott Kelby's book..I thought it was brilliant as he talks as tho he is next to you and I found it easy to follow. I haven't scratched the surface yet but this should get you going. Hope this helps:)

+1 to Kelby's book

If you're after video tutorials I can also recommend the Kelby Training series for Lightroom 3 by Matt Kloslowski.

You can view the kindle books on an iPad as well as a kindle - also, you can view on your PC by downloading the kindle software.

Matt Klowolski's website has lots of good tutorials on it as well, which is where I picked up most of my learning. I head back there regularly as he is always adding new stuff in there. He does some before and after tutorials which are also available on itunes for free, as long as you can handle his accent butchering the english language.

I did a course here in Adelaide about a year ago. It was a 2 day full on Lightroom extravaganza. I wish I could remember it all! Anyway I ahve been using it since then and feel comfortable with the platform. The guy who ran it, Jerry Courvoisier, now runs tours out of the US, where he is based. However he does come to Australia - quite often! He has a book which is available - perhaps have a look at his site first and see what you think. This guy worked as a consultant to Adobe so he is pretty learned! http://www.jerrycourvoisier.com/
