I am having trouble with a sx120IS. There are grid lines permanentaly on the LCD display, even when the camera powers up. I tried turning grid lines off in the menu and also tried displaying the other grid lines (thirds etc.) which appear as grey lines.

The lines however, are not present when viewing images on playback, so i am guessing it is not something completely at fault of the LCD.

Here is a picture of the lines which appear. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any help would be appreciated.

Two tests to prove your theory-
1) the lines stay in the same place when you zoom the image in playback

2) (almost redundant, but) they DO NOT appear in the downloaded pictures.

:(:eek::Doh: (take your pick) Am.

PS as Edit. If the cam is out of warranty and the downloaded pics are OK then it should just be a nuisance.

Fair enough! And with a few sharp words!
