Hi,
What would you suggest for a good all round Flash for the likes of a Nikon F4,Nikon F5,D200 and D60.Preferably something lighter than the SB600 and later.I have a SB400 for the digital camera's but it won't work on film.I'm also looking at a SB 27, I can get a new SB 27 for around $80 delivered. Also what about the non Nikon flashes.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you

probably the best flash's you could get for the what you want to do is the Metz line. Nikon flash's are good if you want the TTL auto stuff.

Is a Metz lighter than a sb-600 though ? Wouldn't have thought much was

no Metz are big, but the SB600 is a small flash really, and the SB400 is farily limited. I used to have the SB27 and it was a good flash.

Nikon speedlights are backward compatible.
New model speedlights coming out from Nikon are able to be used on their older SLR's made up to almost 40 years ago.

Thanks everyone for your replies. At the moment I'm leaning towards the SB-27 for the price it's selling for and it will probably do what I want OK.I'm not a great lover of Flashes that stick straight up on the camera's hotshoe. The SB-27 might be a bit better balanced with the weight spread sideway's.

Huh, wouldn't you really want the capability of say a sb800 that yiu can use as commander etc
