Im going to NZ in a few weeks and was more than thappy with my D50,thats until my mate rocked up with a brand new D90.After a few minutes not only did I want one I convinced myself I NEEDED one, that night after lots of coffee and Google I decided the 90 was the go.A few more cups of coffee and many Google pages later the 300s started to look good. The extra dollars scared me a bit (a lot) but what the heck a few more OT shifts and its mine. The latest rumours getting around is that the D95 will be out soon.Has anyone heard this rumour, or will I be taking my D50 to NZ

I find http://nikonrumours.com a good source of rumours.

As we get closer to release dates etc, the rumours start to reflect the actual truth more and more (but not always). That said until Nikon release a product, the people in the know are the only people who know and they're sworn to silence so what a product will/won't be called is a best guess...

wheellathe, a want will always override a need, but none of these cameras will really do anything to improve your photography.

based on the rumor, the D90 replacement will be called D7000, and should be announced in the 18th of September :)

take the d50 to NZ, or buy a D90 for under $800 :)
the D7000 won't be available by the time you leave

Get what you can afford and claim the tax on the way out. Remember to take your receipt with you. AND remember you only live once so if you can afford it...do it.:efelant:

Where in NZ are you going ? :)
I would suggest the D90 . The latest cameras , if you can get them , will be twice the price anyway . The D90 is a very nice camera .
