Charming, it's like buying a Honda - 6 months later they bring out a new model and now mine looks old.
Folk will say "oh I see you have one of Canon's old cream lenses" when I only got it in June. :D

I think you will find that is the whole point.

There will always be those who need to have the newest, latest things - and be BE SEEN to have them as well.

Canon seems to know this.

Rather like football teams who change their jerseys every 6 months.
