I have a Pentax ME Super which I used pre digital, and was recently given a Pentax Spotmatic. I have a strong interest in returning to film photography (including using my polaroids).

My question to all you SLR experts is, which camera should I focus on using - the ME Super or Spotmatic (guess I'm really asking which is the better camera). I don't see the need for using two SLR's (nor the time) therefore want to know which one to really focus my energy on.

regards and TIA.

The ME Super is K-mount and the spotmatic is M42.

You have more lens options with the K-mount, plus you can get an adapter for M42 lenses onto K-mount, but not the reverse.

ME Super is a better camera than the spotmatic.

I would suggest you keep the Spotmatic. When you use M42 lenses, Spotmatic could be a better camera.

That's illogical.
The ME super has a better meter, can use the m42 lenses AND K-mount, 1/2000 of a second shutter, with flash synchronisation at 1/125 of a second.

The spotmatic is only 1/1000 shutter, much older, not as good metering, and only 1/60 flash sync.
