I'm wondering if anyone else here builds their own DIY lighting mods or other lighting accessories?

I've been considering building myself a beauty dish for a while just haven't had the spare time to tackle it... i need to sit down and do it one weekend...

Just interested to see what other people have built?

Ive made a couple of DIY snoots and grid spots mate but nothing too tech ..

Take a look at this DIY Beauty Dish (http://davidtejada.blogspot.com/2008/04/beauty-dish-for-sb-800.html) ... Ive been meaning to give this a go but havent got around to it yet.

Yeah the strobist one is in my DIY bookmarks, but this is the one I'm thinking about doing: http://ishootshows.com/2010/02/09/music-photographers-diy-beauty-dish/

I hadnt seen that one.

A lot more durable than Tejadas plastic version. Might give that one a go myself. Cheers mate :)

I just made myself a striplight using a hacked up rectangular cardboard box, foil, glue and some baking paper. Cost me about 40c i reckon. From the test shots it seem to spread the light uniformly and I will trialling it with my next model :)

Here are a few pics - seems to serve its intended purpose with long highlights and quick fall off with less wrap around than a softbox.

I'm a fan of home-brew gear!
