This is and isn't high speed photography . I used two SB800s at 1/128th power but the subjects weren't moving very fast . I put them on a table , hit it from underneath with a hammer and let the sound activated switch (http://desmond-downs.blogspot.com/2010/07/flash-sound-activated-flash-trigger.html)fire the flash .

Just for my personal amusement, can you do a firecracker inside a pumpkin? :D

Fireworks are highly restricted in this country .... pumpkins not so much :)

I wouldn't worry mate, it is the final image that counts, not how it was achieved nor the gear used to achieve it.
In fact I reckon by getting a bullet "frozen" in flight your way is just about as effective as doing it the "genuine way" but with far less risk and expense.

You don't have to spend a lot - you can do it with a simple switch , it just involves a bit more skill .

It's good fun - I don't have any kids to blame but then again I don't need to have someone to blame :) .

Maybe HWMBO can confirm this behaviour ???

I had a few misfires with the flash but sometimes that adds to the picture - depending on opinion of course

And of course it wasn't always aiming in the right direction when it bounced !
