Does anyone know where abouts I can buy a right-angle camera mount, so that I can mount my 50D in the vertical position?
I don't want any fancy u-beaut does-it-all thing, just a simple right angle mount so that I can centre the weight over the tripod, rather than off to the side.
I had no idea this would be so hard to find.

These companies/brands are your friends - not cheap but quality and do exactly what you are requesting in a L-plate bracket for mounting vertically and horizontally. The brackets are camera make and model specific.

Hope that helps :)

More experienced snappers will no doubt respond too. I am looking into buying some kit from these companies including the L-bracket too hence my response

Yep as above, it's called an L Bracket and the really right stuff one is very well regarded.

Just in case you are still deciding..I ordered my L-bracket from RRS on Monday night and it arrived in country Vic on Friday morning. Super service, couldn't be happier. I even asked a question using their contact us email option regarding a clamp and received a response within 24 hours. I highly recommend RRS (Really Right Stuff). :th3:
