Images from Mt Stromlo that have been left as a sad reminder that nothing is safe from the ravages of bush fire.

Nice series but too small to really see well enough.

I was up there earlier this year and came away with a completely different set of photos. I like how these focus on smaller elements of the destruction while mine were more wider scenes highlighting the stark new white paint on the burnt out surroundings. I find these shots a little warm in colour to what I remember having seen there.

Thanks Paul. The size really is my fault. I processed them on my laptop and they looked OK sizewise on that screen. Now I’m home on my 24” screen they look not much bigger than thumbnails!

lovely shots.

Thanks David. It had quite an impact on me because even though I’ve been back to Canberra quite a few times since the fires it was my first visit back to Stromlo since they went through. The last time I went before the fires was for my nephews wedding reception at the visitors centre.

Thanks Dave. I have plenty of the wider type shot as well, but like the shots that focus on the smaller things as well.

Nice pics - a different view of the devastation of fires. Well exposed and I like the colours. 4th and 5th really grab my attention, particularly the way new growth as started in the fourth.

Thanks Shelly. I would have loved to have gotton into the building but it is surrounded by 8' chain link fence, so I think they would have taken exception to me climbing oer it haha.

No worries Mary Anne, I'm glad you liked them. It's nice to see I'm not the only one who is effected by these.

Thanks Anne. I'm not quite sure of the correct etiquette for posting shots, and I hope I don't offend anybody by breaking any rules, but here are some more shots from the same visit

You can post as many photos as you want. But you have posted these in Not For Critique, thus meaning any replies will be generic, and you won't get really good feedback.

Also be aware that if you do post photos for critique, it is better to keep it to 1, 2, or 3 photos as members will often not make in depth critique of a whole bunch.

Another great set of photos.I find the small detailed photos have so much character. I would love to scrapbook them and tell a story.
