I've had my iPhone for more than 2 years now and was able to capture a number of decent images. Especially now that there has been tons of photography apps in the net, its more fun and easier to shoot with the iPhone.

I know the camera of the iPhone (1st gen) is not the greatest in the market. But as Chase Jarvis would say....The Best Camera Is The One That’s With You :)

Which app do you use? They all seem to be the same just different layout

I cannot say I've used mine for anything more than reference shots.

I'm not an opportunistic photographer, though; I go out specifically to shoot a pre-determined subject.

But you're right -- when opportunity knocks, the best camera is the one you're carrying.

These are very nice. I've found mine takes a decent shot, I have a 3G model, and it is always with you.

As has been stated a lot, the results of a photo rely on the photographer. I think if any of the good photographers on AP were asked to go out and get some good photos with a phone camera, the results would be good. It is about composition, subject matter etc, and having an eye for the shot. The phone camera is just a tool, the true impact of the above is that the photographer (Levi) knew what they were doing.

I use PhotoFX, which has all the Tiffen filters in it, on my iPhone. My avatar was taken with my iPhone.

I totally agree Rick, I have managed to take some half decent shots with mine at times.

I still do carry my compact everyday... but sometimes I do accidentally left in the car so I have to do with my camera phone. I guess it also forces me to concentrate in composition and going into the details of the subject... rather than tweaking the aperture and shutter values.:)

Wow - love this shot Levi. Reminds us that we often carry a decent photographic tool in our pocket and Rick is right its who is holding the thing that makes all the difference.

Love that photo of the building Levi, I'll have to take my iphone camera a bit more seriously I think.

Mine was too and then "cartoonised" with ToonPaint (it's brilliant fun). The iPhone is my best camera when I don't have my 7D with me.

The Iphone is a fantastic tool for taking some interesting photos. One of my favorite apps is called Autostitch. You can take multiple shots and stitch them together for some fantastic compositions.

Check out my friends photo while bored waiting for a tram:

You certainly have a good eye for composition and I really like what you have captured while out and about.

I have recently discovered the Hipstamatic App for the iPhone. To me it's the first iPhone App that really gives a really great user experience. It literally turns the iPhone into a 1980's p&S camera.
Taking photos with the Hipstamatic is actually fun.

Here (http://hipstamaticapp.com/) is the web site. The app is a paid one but it's only a couple of dollars.

It can sometimes be fun to use lesser technology to try and capture good interesting photos. Sure, the resolution isn't the best, colours might not come out all that perfectly... etc. but fun none the less.

Some really good camera pics posted above. :wd:

That's quite an impressive image for the iPhone. No blurring at all. The iPhone is really difficult to hold still to take a photo. Well done.
