Have the 10-22mm and 24-105 L and 50mm 1.8 nifty fifty etc in my kit but nothing at 2.8 ..so... I spotted a 'cheap' second hand EF 24mm F 2.8 and thought it might come in handy for wide angle shots in low light on my 1.6 crop 50D ? Apart from the 100-400mm which I am working towards I thought I would start collecting useful fixed length lenses.

Thoughts anyone ?

I have the 24 2.8 lens and and think it good value for the money, small and unobtrusive on your camera.

I'm going to go for the canon 17-55 is usm f2.8 for low light work. It just offers so much more as far as range goes and would be perfect for indoor use. From everything i've read (and I've read a lot) it is really sharp at f2.8 and whilst the IS won't help subject movement I'd still rather have it than not.
