Hi all, I came across the following thread over at the Bushwalk Tasmania site discussing some interesting pp techniques. To me it blurs the boundaries between photography and art, but that certainly doesn't detract from the skill involved.

What are the "boundaries between photography and art" anyway? To me, personally, photography is art... so in that sense, I dunno :) I personally have boundaries that I set myself (I will not take the sky from one photo and place it into another photo for example) but I'm not sure I could express my boundaries in a sentence or two

Definitely agree that both are 'art'. I'm the same regarding boundaries. As long as I'm working with what was in the original image then I would call it photography. To add additional elements that weren't there to start with or even to manipulate the existing information to the point at which it is no longer 'realistic' to me is pushing a photo into the 'graphic art' category (whatever that means!).
