View Full Version : Tripod Shadow Removal

First rule of Photography If sun is behind you you will leave a shadow:eek:.

The question is is this to big to hide with PS or if not what is a good way of doing it? It isnt a very good picture but I would like to keep it for the interest. I do have the raw file.

It actually looks like a monkey doing pushups with the camera above its head to me....but maybe that's just the heat getting to me.:D
If you are using photoshop, zoom in on the shadow area and just use the patch tool, or clone tool, sampling from different areas outside of it to get rid of the dark part.

Hey Prang. In CS2 I used selections, Selective Color, Air Brush, and Spot Healing Brush and about 10 minutes to get this. It's a bit rough - I'd need about 1/2 aqn hour - but will it start to do? Am...

Thanks Lani it does look like some thing is holding it up:D.

Wow Am that,s good I will try out both methods this Photoshop could be a bit addictive, mind you if I had have looked in the first place I wouldn't need to!

Sorry, a bit off topic but may I ask: Is that a whale bone or a rock? Or other?
Whatever it is, its a very intriguing object.

Yeah Swifty it is a Whale bone it seems to be part of the head.

It was washed up on Nanarup Beach in Albany WA.
